TRURO – A special treat is coming for fans of The Beatles music. Creative Voices of Truro will present Beatlemania!  May 10, singing both hits and lesser known pieces first performed by the iconic band.

“This is something different for us,” said Creative Voices member Sonya Parks. “Jackie (Chambers), our artistic director, is very creative and is a fabulous director. She is bringing three instrumentalists to take part in this and we will be doing some pieces as small groups and some all together.”

Accompanist for the performance will be Sandra MacAulay-Thompson.

The concert is being held at St Andrew’s United Church, which will be decorated with The Beatles memorabilia for the evening .

“My favourite Beatles song is The Long and Winding Road and four of us will be singing that,” said Parks. “I learned some Beatles songs I didn’t know existed before we started preparing for this. I’m really excited about this event.”

The show begins at 7 p.m. Tickets, which cost $15 for  those over the age of 12 and $5 for those 12 and under, are available now at MacQuarries Pharmasave or by contacting Parks at 893-4567.

Creative Voices, which consists of about 25 women, will be offering a second presentation of ‘Beatlemana!’ in Parrsboro in September.
