Truro native nominated for an Atlantic Journalism Award

HALIFAX – Brad Works, managing editor of the Journal Pioneer in Summerside P.E.I., has been nominated for an Atlantic Journalism Award.

The Truro native has been recognized in the ‘Best Page Presentation: Newspaper’ category. Also nominated are Mike Landry and Sonja Schrick of the Telegraph-Journal – Saint John, N.B.; and Nadine Fownes – The Chronicle Herald, Halifax, N.S.

The nomination is the second in the category for Works who won the Silver Award at the 2009 Atlantic Journalism Awards while with the Amherst Daily News. He is also winner of the Best Special Section at the Atlantic Community Newspapers Association 2009 Better Newspapers Competition. He started his journalism career with the Truro Daily News in 1996.

This year’s awards will be presented during the gala dinner and awards event at the Halifax Marriott Harbourfront Hotel on Saturday, May 10.
