East Prince Street store robbed Sunday morning

SALMON RIVER – The Colchester RCMP is investigating a robbery at the Needs Store on East Prince Street on Sunday.

The Colchester RCMP is searching for a suspect in a robbery that occurred at the Needs Store in Salmon River on Sunday. The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 19 years old, wearing a black coat, grey hoodie, grey scarf across his face and white leather gloves. 

At approximately 6:45 a.m., the RCMP responded to a panic alarm at the store. A preliminary investigation determined a lone suspect entered the store with his face covered.

The suspect indicated to the female employee he had a weapon. He requested money and cigarettes before leaving the scene on foot with an undetermined amount of cash.

An RCMP dog was called in and containment was set up with the assistance of the Truro Police Service, however now suspect was located. Police believe a getaway vehicle was waiting for the suspect.

No one was injured in the incident.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 19 years old, wearing a black coat, grey hoodie, grey scarf across his face and white leather gloves.
