Decision day for Millbrook band elections

MILLBROOK – Band members of Millbrook First Nation will be heading to the polls today to determine if there will be a change of leadership or whether Chief Robert Gloade will stand for his second consecutive term.

The polls run from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Millbrook Community Hall. Polls are also held in Beaver Dam, Cole Harbour and Sheet Harbour.

Gloade is facing three other candidates in the running for chief; James Howe Sr., Stephen Marshall Sr. and Jack Paul.

A total of 40 individuals are vying for the band’s 12 council seats.
