Strong southwesterly winds gusting 90 to 110 km/h are expected this evening over much of the province.

Heavy rain will fall at times throughout the morning over eastern Nova Scotia. Scattered thundershowers are possible this morning.

Poor road conditions promoted the closure of all schools in the Chignecto-Central Regional School board on Friday.

There are currently no power outages in Colchester County reported by Nova Scotia Power.

More than 1,000 customers in Digby County are currently without power caused by lightening and other weather conditions.

There are also pockets of small outages in metro and west Halifax, Sydney and Goshen.
