Drop-in knit, crochet group

JAN. 23 – Truro library. For ages eight and older. 3 to 4:30 p.m. Bring your own needles. Patterns and written instructions will be available.


Full-course dinner

JAN. 23 – Royal Canadian Legion, Truro. Noon to 1 p.m. All the trimmings, too. Cost: $10.


Historeum Thursdasy

JAN. 23 – Cards, 45s, crib. Colchester Historeum, 29 Young St., Truro. 1:30 p.m. Refreshments. Call 895-6284 for more information.


Colchester Historical Society presentation

JAN. 23 – 29 Young St., Truro. 7:30 p.m. Historian Dr. Malcolm MacLeod. Presentation: The Littlest Soldier: A Child Eye’s View of WW11. Everyone welcome. Non-members pay what you can.


Community refreshments

JAN. 23 – Young Street Gospel Hall. 10:30 a.m. to noon. Coffee, tea and snacks. Free. Each Thursday. Everyone welcome.


Roast pork supper

JAN. 24 – Debert legion. 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Supper for $10 includes main meal, dessert, tea or coffee. Everyone welcome.


Old-time dance

JAN. 24 – Douglas Street Recreation Centre, Truro. 7:30 p.m. Shared lunch, 50/50, door prize. Sponsored by the Truro Y Senior Citizens Group. For ages 50 and older.



JAN. 24 – Trinity United Church, Upper Onslow. 7 p.m. Music past and present. Featuring Heather, Chris and James and Friends. Refreshments to follow. Free-will offering.


Card party, 45s

JAN. 24 – Bible Hill village hall. 7 p.m. Prizes, light lunch, 50/50 draw. Cost: $5 per person. Proceeds for the Bible Hill Fire Brigades ladies auxiliary.

JAN. 24 – 21 Palmer St., Truro. 7 p.m. With the Good Neighbours Seniors Club. $3. Everyone welcome.


Open door community prayer

JAN. 24 – First Baptist Church sanctuary, Prince Street, Truro. 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Personal prayer for the people in the community. Wheelchair accessible.
