Men injured in Millbrook home shooting; suspects arrested in Dartmouth

MILLBROOK – Two men were injured in a shooting inside a residence here early Wednesday morning.


At approximately 2:40 a.m., the Millbrook RCMP received a 911 call of an altercation inside a residence.

A preliminary investigation revealed that one person, a 25-year-old man from Millbrook, was shot with a firearm. He was transferred to the Colchester East Hants Health Centre with non-life threatening injuries, and later transported to the Queen Elizabeth II Health Sciences Centre in Halifax.

A second victim, a 19-year-old man also from Millbrook, was pepper sprayed. He was treated at the hospital in Truro and later released.

Following the altercation, the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. One of the suspects is from Millbrook, and the suspects and victims are known to each other.

Halifax Regional Police arrested a man and woman early Thursday morning believed to be connected to the shooting. The 21-year-old man and 25-year-old woman have been turned over the Millbrook RCMP. They were arrested without incident in an apartment on Galaxy Avenue in Dartmouth.
