Grand opening celebrations set for Sept. 28
TRURO – April Wine tickets for the upcoming grand opening celebrations at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre (RECC) appear to be a hot commodity.
So far, more than 1,000 tickets have been sold for the Sept. 28 celebration, according to marketing manager Nick Sharpe.
“To keep the party going after April Wine wows the audience with their headline performance, the RECC has added The Chess Club as the late-night entertainment.” he said.
The Chess Club, from Halifax, features both male and female vocals and a tight rhythm section to get their guests on their feet.
Described as a “high-energy ensemble” the group plays a wide range of classics from the Beatles to Adele and features Sasha Muise, Paul MacRae, Ron J, Patrick Storer and Brad MacDougall.
And last week, the centre also announced the addition of local rock band Gloryhound to the set list.
Tickets to the ‘dance-style’ arena floor beer garden are $25 (taxes in) and include access to the bowl seating if seats are available.
General admission (all ages) for the bowl seats are $15. Those tickets do no permit entry to the arena floor.
As well, Sharpe said, from noon until 4 p.m. on Sept. 28, a “flurry” of activities and entertainment will be ongoing throughout the facility for children, adults, seniors and families, including an official ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Tickets can be purchased at the RECC or online at ticketpro.ca.
