North River’s Lynds to return to court late August

TRURO – A North River man facing more than 40 charges relating to the proceeds of crime is set to return to court in August.

Curtis Blair Lynds will return to provincial court on Aug. 29 for what is expected to be a conclusion to the matter.

Lynds, 37, of North River, is facing a total of 41 charges of possession of proceeds of crime and two charges of laundering the proceeds of crime, charges that stem from Sept. 2007 drug raids in Truro and the surrounding area.

Lynds is currently in custody awaiting trial on first-degree murder charges in the Sept. 2000 deaths of Barry Kirk Mersereau and Nancy Paula Christensen. That trial is scheduled to begin on May 5, 2014.
