Man arrested in missing Halifax woman case

HALIFAX - A 50-year-old man has been arrested in relation to the disappearance of Reita Jordan.

Just after 2:30 p.m. Monday, investigators from the RCMP/HRP Integrated Major Crimes Unit arrested the man on Brunswcik Street in Halifax. He is currently in police custody.

In late March, police received a report of a missing 34-year-old woman from Halifax who was last seen on March 19 by friends in Halifax. She has not been seen or heard from since.

Reita Louise Jordan is described as a white female, 5'6', 123 lb. She has medium length dark hair and usually wears hoop earrings. She also has a heart shaped tattoo on her left bicep, heart on her left chest and tribal tattoo on her ankle.

Police have been checking with local businesses and police agencies as well as family and friends of the missing woman but have not been able to locate her.
