ONSLOW MOUNTAIN – Onslow Belmont firefighters were called out to a late-night fire Sunday evening that resulted when a homeowner was soldering water pipes with a propane torch.

Spokesman Clare Peers said the fire on Sunnybrook drive resulted in minimal damage after a fire began under the floor of a garage at the residence. He estimated damage to be about $2,000.

Firefighters were on scene for about an hour.
