TRURO - Eight teams are still in the hunt at a men's cashspiel being played at the Truro Curling Club this weekend.
Two teams from each of the four groups, including former national champion Mark Dacey and local favourite Peter Burgess, advanced to the playoff round, which is now underway.
Moving on were:
Division A: Scott Saunders (5-0), Kent Smith (3-2)
Division B: Chad Stevens (5-0), Ian Fitzner-LeBlanc (3-2)
Division C: Stuart Thompson (4-0), Peter Burgess (3-1)
Division D: Mark Dacey (4-0), Anthony Purcell (3-1)
Twenty-two teams entered the competition, which serves as a tune-up for teams hoping to qualify for the provincial Tankard being played in Truro in February.
