Salmon River woman fined for failing breathalyser
TRURO - A Salmon River woman convicted of failing the breathalyser was fined $1,000 in provincial court this week.
Melanie Lynn Lannon, 35, of 15 Shawndale Drive, was also placed on probation for
nine months, in lieu of receiving an elevated fine because of a .17 breathalyser
reading.
Lannon expressed remorse for her actions, which she said were completely out of character, and which stemmed from marital issues she was experiencing at the time.
Judge Del Atwood revoked her driving privileges for a year, ordered Lannon to refrain from possessing or consuming alcohol and that she be assessed for alcohol counselling.

Brookside man fined for possessing stolen wallet
TRURO - A Brookside man convicted of possessing a stolen wallet and loose change was fined $200 in provincial court this week.
Andrew Stephen Betts, 21, of 54 Brookside Rd., also received a victim surcharge fine of $50.
