TRURO – A local church is offering a special service with musicians who have spent years ministering on family values and proclaiming Jesus in the community.

The Durocher family, of northern Minnesota, will visit St. James Presbyterian Church in Truro as part of their Market Place Tour, which is based on Acts 17:17 that proclaims the message of Jesus Christ in public places. The guests will be at St. James on Oct. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

Durocher Family Music – consisting of Paul and Judy Durocher and 10 of their 12 children - has travelled as a full-time touring band since 2008, performing about 200 shows a year from Maine to Mexico.  One of its goals is to promote family values based on godly principles throughout the country.

The Durocher family plays bluegrass, country, and traditional folk music, as well as some of the old hymns like The Old Rugged Cross, I’ll Fly Away and Power in the Blood.  In addition to playing music, the Durochers minister through testimonies and humorous stories from life on their farm and living in the country.

There is no admission for the Truro event but a free will-offering will be taken. For more information, call the church at 893–9587 or e-mail: stjameschurch@eastlink.ca.
