Annual speed-dating event at Edmontons Valley Zoo adds same-sex night

EDMONTON - The annual "Animal Attraction" event at Edmonton's Valley Zoo will be welcoming gay and lesbian participants this year for a same-sex speed-dating night.
The city-owned zoo has been sponsoring speed-dating for the last couple of years with the aim of introducing couples who have at least one thing in common - their love of animals.
So far, three marriages have resulted, the city said in a news release, and the event has been so successful that organizers decided to add the same-sex portion for "a night filled with wild possibilities."
"Animal Attraction offers guests the opportunity to enjoy an evening filled with warm beverages and tasty snacks while learning fun facts and steamy details about romance and mating in the animal kingdom," said a release.
