TRURO - A Belmont man who pulled off the road in Millbrook after having too much to drink has been convicted of refusing the breathalyser.
Ronald Frederick Hanes, 55, of 1413 Belmont Rd., was picked up on Dec. 12 after Millbrook residents called police about a suspicious car sitting in their driveway.
Hanes was sleeping in the driver's seat with his keys in the ignition when police approached his vehicle.
He said he pulled over after realizing he had consumed too much beer and rum and was waiting for a drive when he fell asleep.
Court heard that he refused the breathalyser because he knew he'd had "too much to drink."
He was fined $1,500 and had his driver's licence revoked for two years.
