A semi loaded with bananas slipped into the median of Highway 104 near Exit 7 early Friday morning forcing the closure of the Cobequid Pass.

Wayne Crossan, Cobequid Pass toll plaza manager, said the incident occurred just before 8 a.m. in the Thomson Station area.
Traffic was being diverted along Trunk 4 through the Wentworth Valley while two tow trucks worked to remove the tractor-trailer from the median.

Oxford RCMP Const. Nic MacKinnon said the crash is under investigation but doesn't believe rainy weather at the time is a cause.

"It was fairly minor," said MacKinnon. "He just sort of drove into the median. There were no injuries and once he was pulled out he was able to go on his way."

The Pass reopened about 10 a.m.
