TRURO - A scale model of the old Truro train station will be one of the highlights of the Model Railroaders Association's 32nd annual fall show.
Set for Saturday, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Nova Scotia Community College campus in Truro, the event will include operating layouts in N, HO and G scales, railroading sales and a variety of display tables.
The model of the Truro train station and Esplanade is as it appeared around the 1950s and follows the "very popular" railroad exhibit recently displayed at the Colchester Historical Museum.
"I just think there are a lot of layouts this year," said participant Rod Norrie, of one of the show's highlights. Norrie also constructed the train station layout.
The show is open to the public with adult admission set at $5 per person. The cost for students is $3 while children under age six are free when accompanied by a parent or guardian. Family rates are $10.
