TRURO - The effects of hurricane Bill should begin to be felt in the Truro area about midnight.
Peter Bowyer, with the Canadian Hurricane Centre in Dartmouth, told the Truro Daily News Saturday evening the "strong Category 1" storm is expected to begin with
rain overnight Saturday.
The worst conditions, Bowyer said, are anticipated to occur mid-afternoon Sunday with winds between 60 to 90 km/hr and continued rain.
"It's a formidable hurricane," Bowyer said.
He estimated between three and six inches of rain to fall in the Truro area, with conditions beginning to clear Sunday evening.
"It's a day event," he said.
