WASHINGTON - The White House private quarters will be getting a makeover from an interior designer to the stars.
Transition officials confirm that the Obamas have chosen Los Angeles-based interior designer Michael Smith to decorate the private quarters of the executive mansion.
Smith has designed the homes of Steven Spielberg, Dustin Hoffman and Michelle Pfeiffer.
Domino magazine editor Deborah Needleman said Smith is known for arranging antiques in a modern way that feels airy and family friendly.
