“Kick back and relax.”
This is a common phrase that goes hand in hand with the thought of summer vacation. Those lazy days you’ll get to enjoy when you don’t have to run your children to school, pick them up from sporting events or get up every morning at the crack of dawn.
While they’re home and you’re on vacation, a little time alone is always nice, so why don’t you get your children involved in some of the summer events going on in Stewiacke. We have a drop-in day camp for you every day of the week starting July 2 until the end of August.
The activities vary from sport to craft; from toddler to teen; and from outside to inside. There’s something planned that will specifically stand out to you, so keep up to date with the events.
Every Wednesday afternoon we’ll be having a special day fit for all ages. For example, on July 16 we have the Traveling Reptile Zoo coming to our community centre. The Zoo brings along 10 reptiles for everyone to see and possibly touch! It’ll be a great event for the whole family.
The Town of Stewiacke not only has events for youth, we also have some programming for adults. We’ll have our evening walk club starting at 6 p.m. on Tuesdays and Thursdays at the Town Office and our senior walk club on Mondays and Wednesdays at 11 a.m. at the community centre. Both walking groups start back up on July 7.
The town is purchasing a Pickleball set to add more variety to the activities we do. Once we get this activity ready to go we’ll be inviting all age groups to come out and try it. Dates to be announced.
Remember, the summer is about being active so you’re fit as a fiddle, but have some fun in the middle.
