Domtar moves to dismantle, demolish its Prince Albert, Sask., pulp mill

MONTREAL, Que. - Domtar Corp. (TSX:UFS) announced Monday it will dismantle its pulp mill in Prince Albert, Sask.
The mill was permanently closed in the first quarter of 2006 and has not operated since.
The dismantling of the paper machine and converting equipment was completed in 2008 and the dismantling of the remaining assets is expected to start in early 2010, the company said.
After removing machinery and equipment from the site, the company will file for a demolition permit and engage the services of demolition contractors.
Domtar is the largest integrated manufacturer and marketer of uncoated freesheet paper in North America and the second largest in the world based on production capacity.
It's shares were up $1.26 at $59.02 Monday on the Toronto Stock Exchange.
