TRURO - Truro has a new fire chief.
Mayor Bill Mills announced Monday that Blois Currie will assume his new position on Dec. 14.
"He comes with a considerable amount of experience," Mayor Bill Mills told the Truro Daily News.
"Obviously, the requirements were five pages long and he met all the requirements."
Currie was one of five people who were interviewed from the 14 people who applied for the position.
Currie currently works with the Halifax Regional Fire's corporate safety department. He replaces the town's first full-time chief, Tom Bremner, who resigned in August to take a position in Salt Spring Island, B.C.
Lloyd Currie, a district chief in the Halifax Regional Municipality, has filled the position temporarily.
