TRURO - Next weekend will see a seven-film art history series kick off at the Marigold Cultural Centre.
The first film, The West Wind: The Vision of Tom Thomson, begins at 1 p.m. on Nov. 17, with films continuing once a month. ‘Winds of Heaven: Emily Carr’ will air Dec. 8.
Athena-produced documentaries ‘Art of the Western World’ will continue in the new year. The series, which was filmed in the 1990s, is still one of the finest intro to art history series made.
‘The Classical Ideal,’ airing on Jan. 12, will feature the Greek and Roman impact on the world. February’s film, The Early Renaissance, touches on Florence to Flemish oils on the 16th.
‘Realms of Light,’ featuring the arts of the Baroque, will air March 30, and ‘A Fresh View: Impressionism and Post-Impressionism’ will be the featured film on April 13.
‘In Our Own Time,’ will run May 25, followed by a one-hour question and answer session on the series.
All films start at 1 p.m.
