Marigold announces new art fund

TRURO – A new Arts Innovation Fund has been created to help artists, performers or groups.

Topics :
Cobequid Arts Council , Marigold Cultural Center , CAC board , Colchester County

The Cobequid Arts Council (CAC) at the Marigold Cultural Center has created the fund, which is designed to encourage new Colchester County creative projects, as there are so many factors that can discourage emerging artists, such as theatre rent, display space and costs for marketing.

The council appreciates that creating a work of art or preparing a performance can often be time intensive and support is often needed, especially for new projects.

Artists can contact Ross Thompson, executive director of the CAC, for funding criteria. Written applications for funding can be submitted to the CAC at any time of the year and support will be extended to both amateur and professionals, individuals and groups as resources allow.

Once the executive director receives an application, the CAC programming committee reviews the application and, if selected, will be recommended to the CAC board for support.

For more information, contact Ross Thompson at ross@marigoldcentre.ca.
