The awards will be handed out during East Coast Music Week in Halifax from March 6 to 10.
Lone Cloud, which released its second CD, We Are Medicine People, features Millbrook’s Alan Syliboy on drums. Syliboy also designed the cover for the band’s latest release. Lone Cloud is up for Aboriginal Recording of the Year.
MacCallum Settlement native Charlie A’Court’s Triumph & Disaster is up for both Blues Recording of the Year, as well as R&B/Soul Recording of the Year.
Bible Hill’s Will Fisher is up for Jazz Recording of the Year with the Will Fisher Coastal Quartet’s debut album, Portage.
