At first glance, it’s hard to figure out what you’re looking at but upon closer inspection, it becomes quite clear: birds, thousands of them! These are semipalmated sandpipers photographed at Johnson’s Mills in New Brunswick. Donna Langille was visiting from Amherst and I’d say her timing was perfect. She caught these tiny shorebirds feasting and getting ready for their journey to South America.
