TRURO: Freeze-up follows risk of flooding
A weather warning is now in effect. Click here to view all affected communities.
We are going to experience two seasons this weekend. As a sloppy system tracks north of the region, a south wind is pulling in unseasonably mild air. The spring-line side of the low will also bring us anywhere from 20 to 40 mm of rain. The rapid warm up and the rainfall could cause localized flooding. As the weather maker pulls away late Saturday, the wind will come around to the west and north-west and invite winter back to province. A stalled low over the Labrador Sea will pump cold air down on us until the later part of next week; expect below normal temperature with significant wind chill!
