SALMON RIVER, N.S. – The Northumberland Silos edged Pizza Market 4-3 in a shootout in recent Truro and District Women’s Ball Hockey League playoff action.
The teams were tied 3-3 after regulation and a five-minute sudden-death overtime, before Stacey Willis scored the lone goal in the shootout to give the Silos victory.
In regulation, Jody Hutchinson scored two goals for the Silos and assisted on Sue Dalrymple’s goal. Carleigh Hiltz, Kara MacDonald and Amy Murdock replied for Pizza Market.
Silos goaltender Amanda Johnson earned the win between the pipes.
