HALIFAX, N.S. – Dylan Blenkhorn picked up his first victory of the season on Saturday on the Parts For Trucks Pro Stock Tour.

The Truro driver held off Jarrett Butcher of Porter’s Lake and Jonathan Hicken of Brudenell, P.E.I, to win the Cummins 150 at Scotia Speedworld.

Blenkhorn led the most laps, pacing the field for 143 circuits in a race that was slowed by seven caution periods and took 70 minutes to complete.

Blenkhorn also won an Atlantic Tiltload heat race.

It was the second podium finish for Blenkhorn in as many events. He finshed third in the season opener on May 18 at Riverglade, near Moncton.

Meanwhile, the Maritime League of Legends kicked off its 2019 campaign prior to the Cummins 150. Shubenacadie’s Braden Langille won the season opener, followed by Andrew Lively (Middle Sackville) and Emily Meehan (Rawdon Gold Mines).

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour heads to the high banks of Riverside International Speedway Saturday, June 8 for the Ceilidh Honda Triple 50’s. Heat races are scheduled for 6 p.m.
