BIBLE HILL, N.S. – The Truro Saints men’s A rugby team came away with a new piece of hardware as the 44th annual Truro World Indoor Rugby 7s tournament played out last weekend.
The Saints defeated Halifax Rugby Football Club 3-2 in the final to capture the men’s A division title on the sand surface at the MacMillan Show Centre.
Truro’s men’s B team didn’t fare as well, going winless in three games. Pictou County won the B division.
In the women’s division, the Charlottetown Rugby Club came out on top, while the Truro team finished with a record of 2-1. Truro entered its final game with a berth to the next round on the line, but lost to Caledonia.
Truro Rugby Club president Owen Hutchinson said the weekend was a success.
“Everything went well and we are all excited for the spring.”
