Truro Panthers drop tournament opener

The Truro Panthers dropped their opening game at the CEC Leadership junior girls basketball tournament on Friday afternoon.

The Panthers lost 39-27 to Stone Park, P.E.I. Truro returns to action on Friday at 7 p.m. against Hebbville.

Jenna Adams led the Panthers with eight points, while Emma Ross added six and Jewel Woolfitt and Taya Beals had five each.

In boys action, the Panthers defeated the Bible Hill Huskies 55-30. Lee Morrison had a game-high 11 points for Truro, while Quinn Hayden added eight points and Austin Warren had seven. Russell Malally and Matt Shannon each scored 10 points for the Huskies.
