TRURO, N.S. – Owen Mullen has been recognized by the Nova Scotia Golf Association.
Mullen has been named NSGA Central Zone player of the year, based on results during the 2019 season.
The 16-year-old from Truro enjoyed a brilliant summer, which included a first-place finish in the juvenile division at the provincial junior championship (second overall), a T41 finish at nationals, and a win on the Maple Leaf Junior Golf Tour Atlantic Series at Fox Harb’r, where he carded rounds 66-69 for a 9-under-par 135.
The annual player of the year awards reception will take place at Avon Valley Golf Club on Sept. 29.

The junior girls player of the year is Abbey Baker of Ashburn, while Ashburn’s Jake Smith is the junior boys player of the year. The NSGA women’s player of the year is Grandview’s Debbie Arsenault, while Brett McKinnon of Ashburn received the men’s nod.
