TRURO, N.S. – For the first time in 22 years, the provincial under-15 boys curling title belongs to a Truro team.

The young but talented foursome of skip Calan MacIsaac (13), mate Evan Hennigar (12), second Owain Fisher (11) and lead Christopher McCurdy (11) brought home the crown after winning the Nova Scotia championship last weekend in Liverpool.

The Truro team posted a 5-1 record and edged Team Strang from Lakeshore 3-2 in the final after MacIsaac made a high-pressure draw with the last stone of the final end that was two millimetres closer to the button than the opposing team’s rock.

The boys will now turn their attention to under-13 provincials in Yarmouth Feb. 23 to 25 and the under-18 Nova Scotia championship March 2 to 5 at the Truro Curling Club.

The MacIsaac foursome is coached by Craig Burgess.
