Truro driver Blenkhorn leads the pack on Maritime Pro Stock Tour

TRURO, N.S. – Dylan Blenkhorn battled his way to a podium finish in his latest race and continues to hold down the top spot on the Parts For Trucks Maritime Pro Stock Tour.

Blenkhorn was second at the Toromont Cat 250 at Scotia Speedworld last Saturday, Aug. 10, and now has a 14-point edge on Jonathan Hicken of P.E.I., in the points standings. Blenkhorn, of Truro, has 1,846 points, while Hicken has 1,832. Jarrett Butcher of Porter’s Lake sits third with 1,762.

Cassius Clark of Farmington, ME, picked up his fifth Toromont Cat 250 victory Saturday and remains the most decorated driver in the race’s 20-year history. In addition to winning $15,400, Clark also took home the coveted Scott Fraser Memorial Cup. Cole Butcher of Hantsport rounded out the podium with a third-place finish.

Four Atlantic Tiltload Heat races determined the starting positions for the iconic race. Clark, Blenkhorn, Marty Prevost and Craig Slaunwhite all won their respective heat races.

The Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race went to Craig Ward of Riverview, N.B. H&B Car Sales provided a $250 cash bonus for the driver leading at halfway, which was awarded to Blenkhorn. Clark paced the field for 196 laps earning him the most laps led award. Dartmouth’s Nicholas Naugle picked up the Kenny U-Pull Hard Charger Award.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is off this weekend but returns to Petty International Raceway on Aug. 24 for the Cummins 200, which will highlight the 55th running of the River Glade International weekend. Tickets will be available at the gates on race day.
