TRURO, N.S. – Timbits rugby, hosted by the Truro Saints Rugby Club, is set for its 15th season.
This year, instruction for three age groups will be offered, including two non-contact mini age groups – Active Start/FUNdamentals mini program for ages 5 to 7 and a Learn to Train mini program for ages 8 to 11. Both programs will offer a try-it rugby day on June 15 at the Truro Saints Rugby Park, 441 Farnham Mill Rd., from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m.
Also this season, there will be a junior introduction-to-contact age group for ages 12 to 15.
All three programs practice weekly on Tuesday nights from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the Truro Saints Rugby Park from June 25 to Aug. 20. The 8 to 11 age group has flag rugby jamborees throughout the summer, while the 12 to 15 age group has a structured mini-league with games.
No rugby experience is required, and all kids need to play are cleats, athletic wear and a water bottle.
Registration takes place online, and is currently open.
The cost is $38.00 for the younger two age groups and $109 for the junior program, making it one of the most cost-efficient summer rugby programs in the province. Contact [email protected] for more information.
