Nova Scotia takes Boston tonight in NHL action

Nova Scotia will be all over the ice tonight in Boston, as three-quarters of the officiating crew hail from Canada’s Ocean Playground.

Jon McIsaac is about to make the step up to the National Hockey League.

Truro’s Jon McIsaac and Halifax’s Gord Dwyer will don the referee’s armbands while Antigonish native Matt MacPherson will do the lines. With the Bruins hosting the Washington Capitals, Zach Sill will add to the Colchester County total. The Birch Hill native skated on the fourth line Wednesday morning, centering Brooks Laich and Stanislav Galiev. It will be Sill’s fourth game since being called up a week ago.

On the Bruins side, Halifax native Brad Marchand will watch from the press box as he serves the second game of a three-game suspension.

The game will be McIsaac’s eighth NHL start this season.
