TRURO, N.S. – The Cobequid Cougars posted their second straight shutout victory to start the season on Thursday in Northumberland region high school boys soccer action.

The Cougars scored three times in the second half to break open a close game on their way to a 4-0 whitewash of the Dr. J.H. Gillis Royals of Antigonish at CEC Field.

Gabe Tremblay scored what would be the winning goal in the 13th minute of the match. In the second half, Drew Mumford found the mark in the 72nd, while Dandre Paris (77th) and Tom Muller (88th) rounded out the scoring.
On Tuesday, the Cougars opened the season with a 2-0 win over the Northumberland Nighthawks.

Aditiya Kalia and Tobi Oshikoya scored first-half goals for the winners.

Keeper Ethan Dahr earned both shutouts.
