It isn’t a cancellation, but with the state of emergency in St. John’s extended through at least today, the National Basketball League of Canada’s St. John’s Edge have been forced to readjust the schedule of their upcoming two-game home series against the Halifax Hurricanes.

Th Edge (4-4), who last played a game on Jan. 8, were originally set to have faced the Hurricanes (2-8) tonight and Sunday afternoon at Mile One Centre, but with the decision to leave the state of emergency in place for today, the contest that was to have been played tonight has been shifted to Monday night (7 p.m.) at Mile One.

Sunday’s matinee, which has a start time of 2 p.m., remains in place.

The Edge had already postponed two home games in the aftermath of the storm. They were to have hosted the Sudbury Five tjis past Tuesday and Wednesday, but with St. John’s International Airport closed earlier in the week, the Five couldn’t make it to Newfoundland.

The Edge say tickets that have already been issued for tonight are redeemable for either Sunday’s or Monday’s game. For more information, you can reach out to the team by email at [email protected]

In addition, the team is offering $8 tickets for bowl seating for the two games for those fans bring a non-perishable food item to the Mile One Box office when making the purchase.

The box office will open when the state of emergency is lifted, something that’s anticipated to happen Saturday.
