GLACE BAY, N.S. — The Glace Bay Panthers girl’s junior varsity team will host the Noel Bramwell Memorial Basketball Tournament this weekend at the Glace Bay High School gym.

The tournament, in memory of the late Noel Bramwell, will feature the host Panthers, Sydney Academy Wildcats, Riverview Royals, Breton Education Centre, Amherst Regional Vikings, and Dr. J.H. Gillis Royals of Antigonish.

Bramwell was dedicated to the sport of basketball and coached elementary girls’ basketball for 11 years. Most of his coaching years were spent at Glace Bay Elementary School.

Glace Bay will open the tournament Friday at 2 p.m. against Sydney Academy, before facing Amherst at 6 p.m.

The tournament championship game is slated for Saturday at 5 p.m.
