The Cape Breton County Islanders claimed the under-11 ‘AA’ provincial championship on Saturday, defeating the Western Valley Spartans 4-2 in the championship game at Hockey Nova Scotia’s Day of Champions at the Rath Eastlink Community Centre in Truro. The victory capped off an undefeated season for the Islanders which saw the team post a 50-0-1 record.
