Rams' Lauther receives ACAA honour

BIBLE HILL, N.S. – Truro’s Danielle Lauther has been honoured by the Atlantic Colleges Athletic Association for her efforts last week on the soccer pitch.

Danielle Lauther of the Dal-AC Rams helped her team go from last place to fourth place in the ACAA women’s soccer standings last week. She was rewarded for her efforts by being named conference female athlete of the week.

The midfielder was named ACAA female athlete of the week after scoring two goals to pace a 4-1 win over the Crandall Chargers.

Lauther, a first-year member of the Rams, also had a strong game in a 1-1 tie against the Mount Saint Vincent Mystics.

The Rams (1-1-1, fourth place) return to action Saturday when they host the UNBSJ Seawolves for a 2 p.m. start, followed by a Sunday game against the St. Thomas Tommies at 1 p.m.

The ACAA male athlete of the week is Crandall soccer player Abdul Nyei.

The Dal-AC men’s soccer team is still in search of its first win of the season after dropping games last weekend to Crandall and Mount Saint Vincent to fall to 0-3.

The men’s team hosts UNBSJ Saturday at 4 p.m. and St. Thomas Sunday at 3 p.m.
