TRURO, N.S. – The Cobequid Cougars are Northumberland region high school boys soccer champs.

The Cougars blanked the Dr. JH Gillis Royals 2-0 on a cold, windy – and at times snowy – day on Thursday at CEC Field.

Drew Mumford and Ben Lauther scored first-half goals for the Cougars and Ethan Dahr recorded the shutout.

The Cougars will host a provincial qualifier quarterfinal game on Saturday, Oct. 27 (opponent TBD).
