New track record for three-year-old trotters at Truro Raceway

BIBLE HILL, N.S. – A new track record for three-year-old trotters was set during Atlantic Grand Circuit Week racing at Truro Raceway on Tuesday.

Ya Boy Bear, trained and driven by Marc Campbell, won his Atlantic Sires Stakes division in track-record form, stopping the clock in 159, closing with a 29 second-last quarter. Ya Boy Bear is bred and owned by Michael Bailey. Getting Messi was second and rallying for third was Mile Hill Willie.

A strong field of Atlantic Sires Stakes trotters and two-year-old filly pacers were featured on the card.

The first division of three-year-old trotters saw Richsnortherndream cross the finish line first in 2:00. In the final division of the Meridan Farm- and PEIHRA-sponsored trotting event Thelastonestanding won easily in 159.2.

The Atlantic Sires Stakes two-year-old pacing fillies competed in two A divisions for purses of $10,340. Woodmere Nasha won her division in 1:59.4, while Saulsbrook Ocean won in 159.3.

Atlantic Sires Stakes racing action continues at Truro Raceway on Friday, July 19 with the two-year-old pacing colts. First race post-time is 7 p.m.
