Midget AA Truro Bearcats claim gold at Moncton Challenge Cup

The Truro Bearcats midget AA team won the Moncton Challenge Cup tournament. The Bearcats skated to a 3-1 record and clipped the Cole Harbour Wings in a shootout in the final. TRURO, N.S. – The Truro Midget AA Bearcats posted a 3-1 record and captured the recent Moncton Challenge Cup hockey tournament.

In the gold medal game, Blake Terry scored the shootout winner and Andrew Juliusson had a great game in nets in a 2-1 victory over the Cole Harbour Wings.

In round-robin play, the Bearcats defeated Chebucto 4-1 and Amherst Ramblers 2-1 before a tough loss to Cole Harbour 2-0.

Scoring for Truro during the tournament were Terry, Jonathan MacMillan and Kaleb Johnstone, with two each, Sam Stoddard, Adam Mackinnon and Mackenzie Archibald. Assists went to Morgan MacPhee, with two, Johnstone, Jack Beselt, Ewan MacKinnon and Daniel Sampson.

Juliusson and Levie Clements played well between the pipes.
