TRURO, N.S. – The Cobequid Cougars hit the turf in Cole Harbour this weekend for a Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation High School Football matchup against the Auburn Drive Eagles.
The Cougars will be in search of their fourth win of the season when they tangle with the Eagles on Sunday for a 1 p.m. kickoff.
CEC (3-1) is coming off a home-field victory last week, where they defeated the Northeast Kings Titans 21-6 in front of a large crowd at James MacPherson Stadium.
The defense was rock-solid in the win and received contributions from several players, including Ivan Gault (two tackles, fumble recovery), Isaac Fraser (three tackles, sack), Matt Shannon (two tackles, interception), Ethan Ash five tackles, interception), Breton Phillips (four tackles), Owen Sellers (interception) and Josh Benoit (interception).
On offense, Andrew Floyd had 20 carries for 96 yards and a touchdown, while Braden Gray had three receptions for 48 yards and a major. Quarterback Craig Tabor was 6-of-12 passing for 84 yards and one TD pass.
On special teams, Kaleb Johnstone booted two converts, two field goals (nine and 14 yards) and a rouge point on punt team.
The Cougars led 7-0 after the first quarter, 10-0 at the half and 21-0 after the third quarter.
