TRURO, N.S. – The Cobequid Cougars won’t get an opportunity to defend their Nova Scotia School Athletic Federation Division 1 boys baseball title.

The Cougars, two-time reigning provincial champs, lost 11-1 to the Riverview Red Sox on Oct. 10 in a wildcard game at the Stadium 1 Diamond.

Cobequid finished second at the recent Northumberland region championship and needed a win over the Red Sox to advance to the NSSAF tournament Oct. 18-19 in Glace Bay.
