TRURO, NS. – Truro Bearcats lost for the fifth time in six games on Thursday, falling 3-2 in a shootout to the host South Shore Lumberjacks in Maritime Junior Hockey League action.
The Bearcats 1-3-0-2 (W-L-OTL-SOL) return to the ice on Friday, Oct. 4. when they visit the Fredericton Red Wings (4-2-0-0). On Saturday, Truro visits the Amherst Ramblers (2-4-0-0).

The Bearcats led 1-0 after the first period on Spencer Blackwell’s fourth goal of the season. Carson Lanceleve, with his first of the season, made it 2-0 at 2:22 of the second.
Bair Gendunov cut the lead in half at 8:02 of the middle frame and scored the game-tying goal at 3:01 of third.
Matt Sabean scored the shootout winner.
Bearcats goaltender Alec MacDonald made 32 saves, while Morgan Kini made 34 stops for the Lumberjacks.
