G Blackmore stood out offensively in a pair of recent games and has been named Bearcat of the Week.
The veteran forward scored one goal and assisted on two others in Campbellton and added pair of goals and a helper in Miramichi – quite a contribution for a team needing that leadership.
G was named the game’s first star in both road wins.
G got his hockey start in the Truro and Area Minor Association, and played a pair of seasons with Truro Major Bantam Bearcats. He grew his game the next year with the CEC high school team, before spending two seasons with the Weeks Major Midgets. His second midget year saw him lead the league in scoring and being named MVP. He joined the Bearcats for their playoff run in 2016-2017, scoring nine goals and five assists en route to a MHL championship and Fred Page Cup appearance.
Truro’s 2016 terrirorial pick spent all of the 2017-2018 season with the Moncton Wildcats. He returned to the Bearcats last year, becoming a fan favourite. This year, as assistant captain, he’s expected to provide speed, grit and scoring in his leadership capacity.
