TRURO, N.S. – The Truro Bearcats midget A hockey team had a win and two losses in three playoff games last weekend.

In their opener, the Bearcats lost 2-1 to Halifax-Chebucto in a hard-fought game. In Game 2, the Bedford Blues doubled the Bearcats 4-2. Truro then picked up a 4-0 win over the Sackville Flyers.  

Scoring for Truro during the games where Adam MacKinnon, with two, and Daniel MacKenize, Jonathan Macmillan, Daniel Sampson, Blake Terry and Riley Masters, with one each. Assists went to Sam Stoddard (3), Eric Macmillan (2), Jonathan Macmillan, Terry (1), MacKenize and Kaleb Johnstone.

Andrew Juliusson earned the shutout against the Flyers.

In their final stretch of four regular-season games, the Bearcats posted a 3-1 record to finish third in the Halifax Central Minor Hockey League.

In the first game, Truro beat the Dartmouth Whalers 5-3, before a 5-3 victory over the Cole Harbour Wings. The Bearcats then suffered a 5-2 loss to the Bedford Blues, and defeated the Halifax Hawks 5-1.
Stoddard scored four goals for the Bearcats, while MacKinnon and Terry had three each. MacKenize and Sampson each added a pair of goals and Ewan MacKinnon and Eric Macmillan had singles. Assists went to Nick Levangie (4), Jonathan Macmillan (3), Stoddard (2), Mackenize Archibald (2), Terry (2) and Johnstone, Ewan MacKinnon and Eric MacMillan, with one each.

Goalies were Juliusson and Levi Clements.
